Science, Technology, Engineering & Math for children – we make it FUN!
The Make Build Play Project is a collaboration between the Junior League of San Jose and Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) to present workshops that provide “learn by doing” science, technology, engineering and math opportunities for young children (4-8 years old). These hands on making and building activities support skills that build student confidence while promoting school readiness and creative problem solving.
Hands-on education prepares kids to compete in a global market. It turns abstract and complex ideas into activities that students can grasp. It is a proven approach for engaging students and boosting subject comprehension. Many educators today do not have the time, funds, or training to develop hands-on learning activities. RAFT provides creative ideas, affordable project materials, one-on-one mentoring and professional development. By transforming the learning environment, RAFT helps close the achievement gap and helps students apply their knowledge to real world environments.
“RAFT provides hands-on activity kits that match education curriculum requirements, completely capture student interests, are affordable and that I would NEVER have been able to pull together on my own.”
