The Junior League of San Jose works to help young children enter elementary school ready to learn and thrive. League resources are dedicated to a multi-faceted Community Program with the following elements:
- Early parent education and support;
- Nutrition and health;
- Safety training; and,
- Kindergarten readiness.
The Done-In-A-Day (DIAD) Committee responds to community needs by conducting rewarding and hands-on projects in partnership with community agencies within the mission of the Junior League of San Jose’s Community Program.
Our goal is to be up close and personal – offering help to people and organizations with identifiable needs. DIAD projects include anywhere from 6 to 50 volunteers and last approximately 2-6 hours. We aim to make a difference in a day!
Although our work might only take a few hours, the impact is timeless.
A past DIAD recipient non-profit summarized: “we anticipated that we would get some great brains to help, but you all did so much more than we could have dreamed – your work helped us increase the effectiveness of our systems, saving our organization money.”
