Individuals not eligible for COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., children) will be permitted to attend JLSJ events only if all other requirements in this policy are abided by. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best way to protect the vaccinated person from infection, hospitalization, or death from COVID-19, as well as to prevent harm to others by reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
Mask-wearing guidance: All individuals attending JLSJ in-person events must follow current Santa Clara county guidance/recommendations on wearing masks at in-person gatherings. As of March 2, 2022, the August 2, 2021 Health Officer Order Requiring Use of Face Coverings Indoors By All Persons was rescinded. The Health Officer strongly recommends that all persons continue to wear face coverings when indoors, consistent with the requirements and recommendations of the August 2, 2021 Face Covering Order. The Health Officer further recommends that all businesses and governmental entities likewise continue to require use of face coverings indoors
Duty to Self-Monitor: All individuals attending in-person JLSJ gatherings/events agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath) and, contact the JLSJ Executive Vice President if she/he experiences symptoms of COVID-19 or receives a positive COVID-19 test within 5 days after participating in an in-person League event.
Assumption of the Risk: Any participation in or performance of any non-virtual JLSJ activities is completely voluntary and is only by choice of the individual participating or performing, and must be in compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines, including but not limited to those relating to minimizing the risk of spread of COVID-19. The individual acknowledges the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of potential exposure despite all of the precautions taken by Junior League of San Jose. Individuals attending in-person JLSJ events hereby release, discharge and hold Junior League of San Jose, its representatives and members harmless from any personal injury, illness, or death related to infectious diseases, such as COVID-19.
JLSJ will offer virtual options for all business-related events but does not guarantee that virtual options will be available for non-business-related gatherings such as socials.
