Held in the even-numbered years, the Fashion Show was instituted in 1981, and raised close to $20,000 for League projects. Since 1982, the Junior League of San Jose has been producing a Fashion Show Fundraiser with shows over two days. This event is now JLSJ's largest single fundraiser, with a cumulative net profit of more than $2 million raised over 13 events. The first Fashion Show Fundraiser, which took place in the Spring of 1981, featured professional models. Designer Gloria Vanderbilt was the celebrity guest at this Fashion Show.

The Models
Many months before the curtains go up at the Fashion Show Fundraiser, a panel of guest judges would meet to choose models from among a talent pool of Junior League of San Jose members and their families.
Putting Together the Fashion Show While our models are the stars at the Fashion Show, every active member within the Junior League of San Jose volunteers her time and talents to make each Fashion Show a success. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to building better communities!
